Weapons Destruction Campaign

The Peace Angels Project’s USA Weapons Destruction Campaign (“USAWDC”) is an American grassroots movement designed to ignite a profound cultural change by providing an honorable means for members of the public to dispose of their surplus firearms. Those individuals who donate their weapons to the USAWDC are directly responsible for creating a legacy of peace, both now and for generations to come.

In March 2019, the Peace Angels Project (the “Project”) launched its USAWDC. The Project is pleased to join forces with Sims Metal Management, the leading metals and electronics recycling company in the world. Sims will work closely with the Project to process the surrendered weapons metals. Ultimately, the Peace Angels Project will transform those destroyed metals into sixty-four-foot-tall Peace Angel monuments which will be placed in high-visibility, public locations throughout the United States.

Sims Metal Management

As a global company whose entire business is focused on making resources available for future use, Sims Metal Management is fully committed to closing the loop on recycling for a more sustainable future. As part of that commitment, we continuously seek new ways to improve on our commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen, including the safe destruction and recycling of weapons provided to us from local law enforcement agencies. It’s for this reason that Sims is proud to support the Peace Angels Project and partner in the USA Weapons Destruction Campaign as they continue to use voluntarily surrendered weapons to create powerful objects of peace and hope to encourage us all to build a better world.
